LIVING CONDITIONS
Tansdale kittens are homed subject to the strict condition that they shall be kept indoors at all times, and never allowed to roam freely outside. We reserve the right to take back the cat if it is found to have been mistreated, neglected, or kept in unacceptable living conditions. We do not normally place kittens in households with children under the age of 5 years old.
REHOMING
The purchaser must notify us if the cat cannot be kept, and shall allow us to purchase it back at the original cost if we so desire. In any case, under no circumstances shall any Tansdale cat be sold, leased, or given away to any pet shop, research laboratory, or similar facility. Owners should contact us for assistance and advice on re-homing.
AVAILABILITY
No kittens will be permitted to go to their new homes until they are at least 13 weeks old (GCCF requirement). Kittens may be reserved on a first come, first served basis (at our discretion) subject to payment of a deposit, typically 20% of purchase price. This deposit will only be refundable in exceptional circumstances, or if the reservation is cancelled by ourselves.
REGISTRATION
All Tansdale kittens are registered in the United Kingdom with an appropriate registration body, e.g. the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF), The International Cat Association (TICA), or Felis Britannica (affiliated to FIFe). Kittens sold for breeding purposes will be placed on the active register. All other kittens will be placed on the inactive register, meaning that no progeny can be registered. Registrations will be transferred to the purchaser on receipt of full payment.
WORMING
All Tansdale kittens are wormed at 6 weeks and 12 weeks of age.
VACCINATION
All Tansdale kittens come fully vaccinated against Feline Enteritis and Cat Flu. The cost of any additional vaccinations requested or required (e.g. leukemia, rabies) shall be met by the purchaser. In any case, new owners are advised to vaccinate against Feline Leukemia at their earliest opportunity.
MICROCHIPPING
Our kittens are all microchipped, except those destined for America. The cost of this is £15 and is a requirement.
NEUTERING
All kittens homed for non-breeding purposes shall be neutered between 6 and 8 months of age.
INSURANCE
Kittens homed within the United Kingdom will include 6 weeks free insurance. Kittens exported out of the United Kingdom will not be insured, except as necessary for transportation purposes.
TRANSPORTATION
The cost of any transportation, whether domestic or overseas, shall be met in full by the purchaser. This shall include any necessary travel insurance, quarantine, additional vaccinations (see above), micro-chipping, an approved secure container, and any regulatory health certification. We will be happy to advise and assist in all matters in this regard.
RETURNS
A refund will be given for pet kittens returned within a period of 2 weeks from date of purchase. Within this period, a full refund will be given for kittens found to be suffering from congenital defects, or serious medical conditions that can be shown to have existed at the time of purchase. Veterinary confirmation will be required. Within the initial 2 week period a refund of 25% of purchase price will be given for kittens returned for no medical reason, although exceptional circumstances will be considered and treated with compassion. Refunds would not normally be given beyond this period. Special agreements may be arranged for kittens sold for breeding.
