Hi, Suzann, I hope you would still remember that there was someone from Hong Kong who asked you about features and the way to keep a Turkish Van before. ^^ I have settled down in Shanghai (a modern city in China) and still looking for a Turkish Van. This breed is so rare in the world. And I am very glad to see that you now have kittens born in your cattery. I saw Freddie and Lily, your cute baby boy and girl in your website. They are so lovely and sweet. I really hope they would be one if my family member and live happily with my ragdoll sons. I am very interested in bringing them to Shanghai and would you please provide me more information about your babies? I really hope to live with Turkish Van.

I love this breed, even though I do not have one. I am 24 and I have had a cat as long as I can remember and I have never seen a cat behave this way ever. I have a kitten that displays all the characteristics of the Turkish Van or Vankedisi, but more than likely she is not even close to this breed. From the way she plays fetch to way she like to join her best friend (her 4 year old owner) in the bath tub every once and a while for a bath. For months I have been looking for what kind of cats behaves so much like a dog than a cat and I found it. My son is quite unique himself with his behavior he is very much like a little adult very in tune with what is going on around him. They are quite the combo, if this is what a Van is, I would really like to own one, and they are so smart and fun. My husband dislikes animals like my orange and white cat Tigger cause he is very lazy and has always been quite lazy, but Ang only 7 months old All white with a weird blue/grey marking on her head right between her ears, it kind of looks like the pointing finger of a cursor, He loves her even though she is a mischievous little thing. I would like to get one. Could You tell me more on who to purchase one?

I have two cats from Tansdale - Steffi (a deaf white/blue eyed Vankedesi) and Popsi - an auburn girl. Both are a delight - Steffi has a MASSIVE personality and is constantly up to mischief. Popsi can hear me coming and hides - so poor Steffi is always the one 'caught in the act'. They are great cats from a very caring breeder. I wish I had space for one of the new kittens!

hi, i have a white kitten which i found which is longhaired pure white with one green eye and one blue eye. she is very agile and acrobatic. i am sure she is a van kedisi but have not tried her with water yet as she is only 5 wks old and being looked after by my cat who had coincidentally just given birth and lost most of her kittens.

Hello,
Thanks for your reply on request of some features of Turkish Van. I do think this lovely breed would adapt most weather and site condition. As I would migrate to other places from Hong Kong later, I would like to know if a Turkish Van could adapt change of location so that I could decide whether to ahve one before or after migration. And, would you give your babies in pair? I believe kittens would live happier with companions rather than living alone. I do hope to build a good relationship with you so that I could have more knowledge before keeping such a new breed of kittens.
I look forward your reply. Thanks a lot!

Just read the message on your website. I am very sorry about Casper. Hope he would sleep in peace.
I would like to ask if there are some books about the Turkish Van? I really want to know more about this need before I would have one. Would the Turkish Van adapt hot and wet weather like Hong Kong? Or should it be kept in some places with drier and colder weather? Does Turkish Van really like swimming? What should a owner prepare for a Turkish Van? I look forward your reply and advice. and, please don't be too sad for Casper. He would like to see his mother smiling rather than crying for him. ^^

No, there aren't any books specifically on Turkish Vans, however there's lots of information on the web. Turks should adapt to most environments, so Hong Kong should be okay! Some like swimming, and many like water.

Hello,
I have posted a message in your Kitten request page. Actually, other than asking for kittens, I would like to know more about the Turkish van before having one. I have a 2-yr old blue point ragdoll cat and she is always kept indoor. As I browsed your webpage that your request of a owner who would kept your babies indoor, I want to know if the Turkish Van need not to be out like Ragdoll does? Is Turkish van passionate or friendly or sociable? Is their coat thick or thin? Would Turkish Van be suitable to keep in Hong Kong? (In Hong Kong, the weather is a bit more humid and hot than that in the UK. So I keep my air conditioner on 24-hr for my daughter, the 2-yr old Ragdoll cat.) All in all, other than asking for kitten, I would like to introduce this breed into Hong Kong. I look forward your kind reply ans hope to keep in touch with you. Thanks a lot! ^.^

Do you have any idea of Vankedisi breaders in Australia? I currently have a beautiful 16yr old Vankedisi who we picked up at a cat refuge as a kitten (completely unaware of her breed). I'd love to find out more about these cats in Australia!
