I was recently in the ER with my precious Turkish Van. She has cystitis. Is this common in this breed? Also, she is approx. 12 years of age. I love my Turkish Van soooooooo much ! She is sleeping a lot since I brought her home from the ER. I am giving her Clavmox with potassium 15 ml Does anyone have any info. as far as if their Turkish Van ever had this and if so how long did it take for them to feel better. Thank you so much !!

Hi Mary, cystitis is no more likely in a Turkish Van than any other breed. It tends to occur in females more than males, but should respond well to antibiotics like Clavamox. Hope she gets well soon!

My family is Adsetlo Mistaphur and Adsetlo Kaymak Bulut. They are 9 months old now! I have a picture of their dad Tansdale Indigo Moon but not of their mum Farfet Isabetti -could you help me find one. The two boys have everything in life that two kittens could wish for - including lots of love! They are doing very well. :) Caroline

Glad you're enjoying life with your new family! Betti is visiting Indi again at the moment, so I'll try to get a picture of her for you.

I am interested in acquiring a Turkish Van Female Kitten with amber eyes, no markings on body only on top of head. I used to have a Turkish Van Female (as description above) I had her for 8 years until she was stolen from me. I would very much like another. Could you tell me how much your kittens are and when you are likely to have any available.

Hi, I'm sorry but we don't have any kittens at this time, and have nothing planned for the foreseeable future.

I have just visited your Site and How do the cats get on with your dogs. I am interested in either a male or female kitten for the new year.

Generally the cats get on fine with the dogs. Turks are quite dog-like, which helps!

So glad to here you are not perfect either! (you know what I mean). Lena is doing fine and gets on very well with her Grandad! Will soon have a high tec (aluminium) run to add to her Conservatory -it arrived a couple of days ago and is awaiting construction.

Hi Suzann, Long time no contact with you. I now finally settle in Hong Kong after a whole six-month business travel in China. It was really a hard work. In my travel, I saw different breeds of cats, and which one called Shan Tung Lin Qing Mao ("Shan Tung" = one of provinces in China; "Mao" = Cat in Chinese), looked alike with the Turkish Van in its appearance. No wonder there is no pedigree TV in China. However, the character of these cats is not very friendly and as told by most owners, like to bite people or hide themselves from everybody, include their owners. ^^" That really scared me! By the way, news posted on your website that there would be a TV litter hoped in mid-June. I look forward to see their birth. ^^ In mean time, I have browsed many websites about TV to get more knowledge about them. I found myself was in fond of this breed indeed, besides my Ragdoll. ^^ Look forward to see the babies and hope one of them would be my family member! ^^ Yours, Carmen

Hi have just been told by a vet that my £10 kitten is actually a Vankedisi!!! We always knew she was different and after trawling sites have discovered more about her and her quirks that turn out to be their traits. She is beautiful can't believe if we hadn't gone to a vet that knew the breed we would never had known.

She may be a Vankedisi, or just a look alike, you'll never know unless you know who her parents were!
